Everest Base Camp trek offers a perfect blend of comfortable trekking trails and the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas. Situated in the heart of the Everest region, it is famous for its stunning landscapes and the warm hospitality of the Sherpa community. The trail reaches the historic Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m and follows the same route once used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

This trek isn’t just about the destination, the journey itself is unforgettable: the warm Sherpa hospitality, prayer flags fluttering in the wind, the roar of the Dudh Koshi River, and the feeling of standing at 5,364 m looking up at the highest mountain on Earth.

Detailed Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our company representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in the city. After check-in, you can relax after your journey or explore the lively streets of Thamel. In the evening, you will receive a short briefing about the upcoming trek and have time to prepare for the adventure.

This day is reserved for trek preparation and permit arrangements. You will meet your trekking guide, check your trekking equipment, and receive a detailed briefing about the journey to Everest Base Camp. If time permits, you may explore some cultural sites in Kathmandu or stroll through local markets to purchase any last-minute gear needed for the trek.

Early in the morning, take a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. During the short but thrilling flight, enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains. After landing, begin your trek through traditional Sherpa villages and beautiful landscapes. The trail gradually descends along the Dudh Koshi River before reaching the peaceful village of Phakding, where you will stay overnight.

Today’s trek follows the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges surrounded by pine forests. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the trail climbs steeply toward Namche Bazaar, the main trading center of the Khumbu region. Along the way, if the weather is clear, you may catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest.

This day is important for acclimatization to the higher altitude. You can take a short hike to the nearby Everest View Hotel or visit the local Sherpa museum to learn about the culture and history of the region. Namche Bazaar also offers stunning views of surrounding peaks and provides a great opportunity to explore local markets and cafés while adjusting to the altitude.

Leaving Namche, the trail offers spectacular mountain views, including Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful peaks in the region. The path gradually descends to the river before climbing through forests of rhododendron and pine to reach Tengboche. Here you can visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Everest region.

The trek continues through beautiful alpine landscapes and small Sherpa settlements. Passing through villages like Pangboche, you will enjoy stunning views of Himalayan giants such as Lhotse and Nuptse. Gradually ascending through wide valleys, you will arrive at the peaceful village of Dingboche, where trekkers often stay to rest and acclimatize.

Another acclimatization day helps your body adjust to the increasing altitude. You may take a short hike to a nearby ridge or viewpoint for panoramic views of surrounding mountains. The rest of the day can be spent resting, exploring the village, or preparing for the higher altitudes ahead.

Today’s trek leads through a high alpine valley with dramatic mountain scenery. The trail gradually climbs to the memorial site dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest before continuing to Lobuche. The surrounding landscape becomes more rugged and glacial as you approach the higher elevations of the Everest region.

This is one of the most exciting days of the trek. After a steady walk across rocky glacial terrain, you will reach Everest Base Camp, the starting point for climbers attempting to summit Mount Everest. After spending some time at base camp taking photos and enjoying the incredible atmosphere, you will descend to the nearby settlement of Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.

Before sunrise, hike to Kala Patthar for one of the best panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After enjoying the spectacular sunrise and taking photographs, return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and continue descending to the village of Pheriche for the night.

Today the trail descends through alpine valleys and small settlements. As you move to lower altitudes, the air becomes thicker and the walking easier. Passing through Tengboche and lush forests, you will eventually return to Namche Bazaar.

This is the final trekking day of the journey. Following the Dudh Koshi River and crossing several suspension bridges, the trail gradually leads back to Lukla. In the evening, celebrate the successful completion of the trek with your trekking team.

Take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu while enjoying the last views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing day in the city.

This free day allows you to relax after the trek or explore more of Kathmandu’s cultural heritage sites, markets, and local cuisine. It is also a good opportunity to shop for souvenirs or celebrate the successful completion of your Himalayan adventure.

According to your flight schedule, our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure, bringing your unforgettable Everest Base Camp journey to an end.
