Team spirit
Rafting is a team sport, both on and off the river. Your guide team will be responsible for cooking and managing the campsite, but they will need your help. In return, they will be happy to share their local knowledge with you, and can teach you how to prepare very tasty Dal Bhat, the national dish!
Conservation
Curbing environmental degradation is a major challenge on many of Nepal’s Himalayan rivers. Alternative Nepal is committed to the ‘Leave No Trace’ principle. We carry what we need, and bring our litter home with us. Cooking is done by LP Gas, so we don’t use up precious firewood.
River Guide Welfare
We are the only company in Nepal to give $1.00 from the cost of your rafting trip to the Himalayan River Guide Association. This money is used to…
Insure freelance guides and their families against accident and injury.
Ensure every Nepalese guide has advanced safety and rescue training.
Support the conservation of Nepalese rivers.
