Much less frequented than Annapurna, this trek is one of the most beautiful Himalayan treks in Nepal. After a journey among the Gurung villages, we will go up the deep valley of the Budi Ghandaki where we will discover authentic Tibetan villages. We will go to glaciers and high peaks passing the Larkya Pass before descending through the valley of the Marsyandi.

Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, reception at the airport by your agent and transfer to your hotel. Late afternoon guided walk through the old neighborhoods and around the former royal palace in Kathmandu

Day 2 Kathmandu (1300 m)

Tour. Starting to go to the famous stupa of Boudhanath, the largest in the world, and believed to be the Mecca of Tibetan Buddhism. Then, continue to Patan, the ancient royal capital. This city is a veritable outdoor museum with its palaces, pagodas, monasteries, temples and shrines.

Day 3Gorkha (1150m/6h30 drive)-Bhogteni (500m/2h walk)

Starting early in the morning . Quick Tour of Gorkha, the ancient royal city. Go upto the palace of King Prithvi Narayan (the founder of modern Nepal) and view the scene of the mountains. Short walk to get to our stop for the night

Day 4 Baluwa (1000m/6h walk)

We ascend the valley Dhorandi.Comfortable journey and beautiful scenery of rice fields. Overnight in tent

Day 5 Barpak (1950m/6h30 walk)

We follow the river again before starting a steep climb up to the pretty Gurung village where we will stop.

Day 6 Laprak (2200 m/5h walk)

Steep climb to the Col de Pushu (2850m) and descend to the big town of Laprak. Beautiful views of the Buddha and Ganesh Himal. Walk around the village.Overnight in tent

Day 7Khorla Bensi (1000m / 6:30 walk)

Downhill to cross the river and then climbs steeply on the side of mountains and Singla pass (2500m). Long descend to join the Buri Gandaki we follow to the foot of the pass. Overnight in tent

Day 8 Jagat (1360m/6h30 walk)

We walk along the river and continue through grooves. Arrival at Tatopani and visit its hot springs. Possibility of dipping. We cross the river by suspension bridges. Cross the Yaru Khola and climb up a paved path to Jagat, a beautiful village with stone houses and entry point of the National Park of Manaslu.

Day 9 Pewa (1750 m/6h walk)

The valley widens before narrowing after the village of Philim. Overhanging path to Ekle Bathi. We walk along the cliff above an impressive gorge before reaching our camp in a forest near by. You may see monkeys.

Day 10 Ghap (2340 m/5h walk)

Pass through the bridges and gateways. The vegetation changes and the climate is alpine. We go up approaching the deep valley through villages where the inhabitants are of Tibetan origin. Overnight in tent

Day 11 Lho (3100 m/6H30 walk)

Perhaps we will meet pilgrims from Tibet on the famous Salt Road. Stop in the village of Namrung to visit his beautiful monastery. Camp, there and enjoy a beautiful view of Manaslu and Himal Chuli. Overnight in tent

Day 12 Samagaon (3550m/4h walk)

Tibetan villages successively on way and Manaslu seems very close. As altitude grows and coniferous forest gives way to birch. In the village, we will see beautiful chorten and mani walls (prayers carved in stone. Camp near the monastery.

Day 13 Samagaon (6 hours walking)

Acclimatization and transfer to the base camp of Manaslu (4400 m) located near the beautiful Moraine lake Birundra Kund.

Day 14 Samdo (3700 m/3h walk)

Quiet climb to the village, built by Tibetan refugees who fled their country. You will be thrilled with the tangled alleys with houses.

Day 15 Dharamsala (4470 m/4h walk)

Mounted in the glacial valley to gain the foot of the glacier and Karkya stone shelter. Very nice point of view of Manaslu and Syacha glacier. Overnight in tent

Day 16 Bhimtang (3600 m/8-9 hour walk)

It takes about 4:30 to reach the climax of our trek (5150 m). Unique views of huge glaciers, the north face of Manaslu, the Himal Chuli, the Kang Guru and the Annapurna massif. Steep descent on the west side of the neck, often snowy. Passage and Larkya àTabuche. The trail joins stiff Bhimtang. Facing the village, panoramic view of the west face of Manaslu and Phungi (6398 m).

Day 17 Tilje (2300m/6h walk)

Very long descend to the forest where there is a special atmosphere. Rhododendrons, mosses and lichens, the noise of the torrent create a magical setting. We continue, passing several pastures before returning to the first villages. Overnight in tent

Day 18 Tal (1700 m/5h walk)

We leave behind the Manaslu trail and find the classic Annapurna in reverse. We are in the valley of the Marsyandi. Our camp is in the pretty village of Tal surrounded by high cliffs. Overnight in tent

Day 19 Syange (1130 m/5h drive)

The valley widens. Green fields and rice paddies reappear. We find the tropical climate Overnight in tent

Day 20 Bhulbule (750 m/5h walk)

Climb up the hill and Bahudanda and the descend to the river. This is our last night in the mountains and we celebrate this with our local team. Overnight in tent

Day 21 Kathmandu (1300 m/5h30 drive)

Short walk to reach the road and take a private transport to Kathmandu. Check into your hotel.

Day 22 Kathmandu

Free day to explore the valley, its temples, monuments or local ethnic people Newars or do the last minute shopping

Day 23 Departure

Free time before transfer to the airport for your return flight .
