Kanchenjunga (8586m) is the third highest mountain in the world which lies in the eastern part of Nepal and some part in Sikkim, India. It is the second highest mountain in Nepal.

Kanchenjunga Trek is one of the extreme and beautiful trekking routes. The trail is full of flora and fauna so it is rich in natural diversity. It is a conservation area. This region is famous for snow leopard. It is also the place where more rhododendrons (national flower) are found. During the trek, you may get the chance to encounter various kinds of flora and fauna like herd of blue sheep’s, Tibetan wolves, Dafe (national bird) and many more. People in this region cattle yak.

Basically, trekkers intending to do remote or adventure trekking should prefer this region.

Day 2Trek preparation day in Kathmandu.

Day 3Fly Kathmandu – Bhadrapur and drive to Illam (Phidim) 5 hours drive.

Day 4Drive Phidim – Taplejung (1820m) – Whole day.

Day 5 Trek Taplejung to Mitlung (921m) – 5 hours.

Day 6Trek Mitlung to Chirwa (1300m) – 6 hours.

Day 7Trek Chirwa to Sekathum (1670m) – 6 hours.

Day 8Trek Sekathum to Amjilasa (2520m) – 6 hours.

Day 9Trek Amjilasa to Gyabla (2730m) – 6 hours.

Day 10Trek to Gyabla to Ghunsa (3595m) – 5 hours.

Day 11Rest and acclimatization day in Ghunsa.

Day 12Trek Ghunsa to Kambachen (4050m) – 6 hours.

Day 13Trek Kambachen to Lhonak (4780m) – 5 hours.

Day 14Day hiking Lhonak to Kanchenjunga Base Camp (KBC) to view Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m) and return back to Lhonak. – Whole day.

Day 15Trek back Lhonak to Ghunsa (3595m) – 8 hours.

Day 16Trek Ghunsa to Selele (4290m) – 7 hours.

Day 17Trek Selele to Tseram (Cheram) (3870m) – 8 hours.

Day 18Day hiking to Oktang Base Camp and return back to Tseram for overnight (4730m) – Whole day.

Day 19Trek Tseram to Chittre (2960m) – 7 hours.

Day 20Trek Chittre to Phumphe Danda (1855m) – 6 hours.

Day 21Trek Phumphe Danda to Simbu (1845m) – 6 hours.

Day 22Trek Simbu to Taplejung (Suketar) (2400m) – 7 hours.

Day 23Drive to Phidim.

Day 24Drive to Bhadrapur and fly back to Kathmandu.
